03 / AUTHORITATIVE RESULT WORKFLOW
From player to result—controlled at every step.
Pinpoint does not make an official result simply because a ball appears in frame. The system qualifies the measurement and ties it to the active player attempt.
Detect the ball
Vision identifies a golf-ball candidate inside the calibrated measurement footprint.
Wait until settled
Position is tracked over time. Moving or transient observations are withheld until stability criteria are satisfied.
Convert to physical distance
The settled image position is transformed into the selected footprint’s physical coordinate system.
Know when it is holed
If the ball enters the cup, the independent cup sensor provides physical confirmation rather than assuming a missing ball was holed.
Rank and record
The authoritative result is stored with the player and attempt, then rankings and audience displays update.

Pinpoint measures where the ball finishes.
Ball candidates are tracked across multiple observations. A result can be held pending until movement falls below the configured threshold, confidence is sufficient, and the ball remains inside the valid measurement region.

05 / PREDEFINED FOOTPRINT CALIBRATION
Known geometry. Guided commissioning.
Instead of asking an installer to invent a measurement area from scratch, Pinpoint can load a predefined physical footprint with known dimensions, boundaries, target rules, and calibration-reference locations.
Temporary references during commissioning. Machine-readable fiducials or equivalent reference features can establish the image-to-physical transformation, then be removed before ordinary play.

Pinpoint pairs vision-derived ball position with an independently sensed physical cup-entry event. That distinction matters: a ball visually close to the cup is still a distance result; a ball physically entering the cup can be recorded as HOLED even if vision loses sight of it during entry.
